If you fancy going East but still want to be next to the river then Shad Thames is worth considering.  Almost in the shadow of the Shard (London’s tallest building to be, in construction), it is packed with converted warehouses which can make impressive apartments with floor to ceiling windows, spacious interiors and dramatic views of the Thames.  There are a number of new build apartment buildings that are worth looking at too.  

It’s a popular location to live for the City boys and girls partly due to it being the perfect place for an easy commute to the City being only a short walk from Tower Hill and London Bridge.

Shad Thames is in the London Borough of Southwark and is south of the river.  The nearest tube is Tower Hill served by the District Line, Circle Line and the Docklands Light Railway (DLR).  

There is a good range of bars and independent restaurants in the area, some on the edge of the  Thames.   Bermondsey High Street is close by and well known for its many bars and restaurants.
