Situation

A German business consultant required moving to London with his wife and two children due to a new job he was starting. As his new contract was for a period of two years he decided he wanted to buy a property rather than rent. The family had little knowledge of London and were unsure of where to live. They wanted to live in a safe environment near recommended children’s day care centres and schools.  They also needed advice on how the UK property buying process operated.

What did we do?

After establishing the brief via skype and email we began the property search.  We advised them of three areas in London that would match their brief and began property searching in Chiswick, Wimbledon and Hampstead.  Once we had viewed and shortlisted a number of prime properties matching the brief we arranged back to back appointments for the family to view over a two day visit to London.  We organised an orientation tour of the three areas so they could get a feel for them. Out of all the appointments we arranged there were two possible properties that that family wanted to make an offer on.  We advised how the process worked and started negotiations for them.  Once the offer had been accepted we saw the process quickly through to completion in time for their arrival in the UK 6 weeks later.  We then were on hand to advise them on recommended trades people in the area so they could make the finishing touches to their new home.

The result?

We saved them 8% off the asking price of their new home. We saw the process through successfully without them being in the country. They had peace of mind in knowing they had a personal contact dedicated to ensuring a quick and easy purchase ready for their move date.
